French Sumo Wrestlers

Sumo Wrestling, French Style

This has got to be one of the funniest things I’ve seen in France.

In a country of wine and romance, the French get a kick out of donning plastic, inflated sumo suits and wrestling a similarly clad competitor to the ground.

Apparently this game is similar to our American inflatable bounce gyms that show up at birthday parties and festivals. Yes, someone owns these sumo suits and rents them out, along with helmets and the plastic mat.

The game is popular with old and young, male and female. The kids love it, but the adults were fighting for their turns, too.

  1. Dear Tkiranov,
Speaking of which, For almost 3 years, I’ve been a writer for an outsourcing company here in our place. I write blogs and website contents. Naturally, I have to do a lot of research as I write different articles for many different topics including health, fitness, how-to articles, real estate, loans and sports. Talking about sports, I stumbled accidentally upon this Japanese form of sports – sumo wrestling. Of course, I’ve heard about it since I was young but I never paid any attention to it. When it comes to wrestling, I always think of the wrestling that we see on TV, you know, with those flashy lights, entrance music and scripted moves. Anyway, I came to this site for this Japanese sport and I was instantly engrossed into it. Everything I’ve read were so majestic to my mind that I decided to write something about it. So, here goes…
    Keep up the posts!
